New Volunteers

We are delighted that 8 new volunteers have now completed their training and are being matched with local families in crisis.  We would like to express our thanks to Councillor Ken Moon who presented the certificates and helped fund this vital training.  Ken Moon said "This country depends on volunteers.  Volunteers are crucial to our society and volunteering is tremendously rewarding and even more satisfying if you do this in the area you live in.  Clanfield has benefitted enormously from the work of Home-Start Butser".

Our next volunteer training course will commence on 14th March.  The free 10 week training programme will be held at Winton House, Petersfield on Tuesday evenings from 6.30 - 9.30 pm.

Our volunteers play a vital role in releasing the potential of parents and giving children the best start in life.  If you are a parent or grandparent with 2 -3 hours a week to spare and are interested in finding out how you could make a big difference to the life of a local family please do get in touch with us to discuss.

Westlake IT

A huge thank you to Westlake IT for becoming the latest corporate supporter of Home-Start Butser.  Without the generosity and commitment of local businesses like Westlake IT we wouldn't be able to continue our vital work supporting local families.  Such support helps in many ways: financial donations, use of facilities, advice and services, and events.

Westlake IT is a growing company in Waterlooville providing tailored IT consultancy, implementation and Helpdesk services to businesses.  We look forward to working with the owner Chris Apperley, and Marketing and Business Development Manager Susannah Jeffery, and developing exciting new opportunities.

"We are delighted to support Home-Start Butser.  They do a great job and I wish I'd known about them when my son was little.  We're a business that employs people with families so I know how hard it is to raise children, with all the demands of modern life, and that's where charities like Home-Start come in." Chris Apperley, M.D.

Annual General Meeting 2016

It was wonderful to see so many Members and Friends at our recent successful Annual General Meeting.  The event saw the launch of our Ambassador Scheme which you can read more about on the "home" page of this website.  Certificates were presented to Judith D, Judith J, Belinda H and Stella H who have been volunteering with us for over five years.  An Outstanding Contribution Certificate was awarded to Justin Kelly for his longstanding commitment and support to Home-Start Butser.  A highlight of the event was hearing from a family and their volunteer about their experience and this had a powerful impact on the audience.

If you were unable to attend and would like to see a copy of our Annual Report please see our "About" page of this website and follow the link.

Finally we would like to offer our thanks to Churcher's College who, yet again, allowed us to host this event on their premises.
