WELCOME TO HOME-START BUTSER
Home-Start Butser was established in 1998 by the local community to support families with young children. It covers a large area of East Hampshire, from Greatham in the North to Rowlands Castle in the South. See map of area we cover.
Home-Start is the UK's leading family support charity. Through a network of almost 16,000 trained parent volunteers Home-Start schemes support more than 32,000 thousand parents who are struggling to cope. There are Home-Start branches all over the country. The first Home-Start scheme was launched in 1973, and there are now over 314 local Home-Start schemes across the United Kingdom and with British Forces in Germany and Cyprus.
Each local Home-Start is an independently registered charity, set up and run by people from the local area, and responsible for raising all its own funds. The small local staff team recruits and trains local volunteers and carefully matches them with local families who need support. Each local Home-Start is managed by a board of volunteer trustees.
